The world famous Shockwave Jet Truck will create a spectacle of smoke, fire, noise and speed as it shoots fireballs, billows smoke and hurtles down the runway speeds of more than 300 miles per hour. The popular truck is coming to Symrna as part of its 30th anniversary tour.
Shockwave is Peterbilt tractor radically modified with three J34-48 jet engines that produce 36,000 horsepower. Shockwave holds the Guiness Book world record for the fastest jet truck at 376 miles per hour.
Shockwave creator Les Shockley had no idea in 1984, when he designed and built the fire-breathing road monster, what a major impact it would have on not only the drag racing world, but also the airshow Industry. Now owned by Darnell Racing Enterprises, Shockwave is as popular and in demand as ever. Countless fans say they saw this truck perform when they were kids. Even Chris Darnell, who shares the driving responsibilities with his Dad Neal, took his first ride in Shockwave at age 7.
